New Beachbody Program Debuts in February

What if I could offer you the opportunity to do a workout program that was only 21 days long at 30 minutes a day with a very simple nutrition plan? I am betting you would jump at the chance.

Well on February 3rd Beachbody's newest program makes it debut. This program is called the 21 Day Fix. The creator and trainer for this awesome new program is Autumn Calabrese. Autumn may be new to Beachbody but she certainly is not new to the fitness world. She is a personal trainer and national bikini competitor. Autumn holds 2 personal training certificates; one from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the other from the American Fitness Professionals & Associates.

Autumn is also the founder of Mighty Mommies Fitness. This group teaches women to be fit and sexy in the midst of their pregnancy. In 2012 she launched a line portion control products to help people get a handle on both serving size and how much they eat.

The 21 Day Fix offers both women and men a great workout program and a simplified nutrition program. With the workout DVDs you also get color coded containers to help you plan meals. Basically the concept is if it fits in the containers then you can eat it. Now how simple is that?? 

The workout program is 7 days a week for 30 minutes a day. The workouts vary from cardio, cardio with weights, pilates, core, and other types of workouts to help get you in the best possible shape.

So on February 3rd don't hesitate get your order in before it sells out because this program is going to be extremely popular. The cost for the Challenge Pack for the month of February is $140, remember with a Challenge Pack you also a 30 day supply of your choice of Shakeology including the new strawberry flavor. Tilapia with Kale and Tomatoes


1 (6-oz.) raw tilapia filet
1 pinch sea salt (optional)
Ground black pepper (to taste; optional)
1 tsp. Extra-virgin olive oil
½ clove of garlic; finely chopped
2 cups chopped fresh kale
½ cup canned diced tomatoes; with juice

  • Season both sides of tilapia with salt and pepper if desired; set aside
  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat
  • Add garlic and kale; cook, stirring frequently, for 1 minute
  • Add tomatoes (with juice); bring to boil. Reduce heat to low.
  • Place tilapia filet on top of kale mixture; cook, covered, for 1 minute. Gently turn tilapia over and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until tilapia is cooked through and flakes easily when tested with a fork.
  • Remove from heat and serve.

Nutritional information: Calories: 294, Fat: 9g, Saturated fat: 2g, Cholesterol: 85mg, Sodium: 669mg, Carbohydrates: 19g, Fiber: 3g, Sugar: 4g, Protein: 40g.

Beachbody Super Saturday 2014

Today marked the first Super Saturday in 2014 for Beachbody. From today's announcements it looks as though it is going to be big year at Beachbody.

Earlier this month it was announced that the Challenge Packs for 2 of the most popular workout programs, P90X3 and Focus T25, would be on sale for the month of January for $180. That is a savings of $25 from it's regular price. Challenge Packs come with the workout program, a 30 day supply of the Shakeology flavor of your choice, 30 day trial of Team Beachbody Club, and a free Beachbody Coach.
 

 










Also, this month was the announcement of a new Shakeology flavor, strawberry. This flavor is going to be available on January 13th. This new flavor is going to be part of a brand new tri-pack of flavors. The tri-pack is going to be 8 packs of chocolate, 8 packs of vanilla, and 8 packs of strawberry. I guess you can call it Beachbody's version of neapolitan.


 







Saving the best for last is announcement of a brand new Beachbody workout called The 21 Day Fix. This workout also brings a new trainer to an already top notch group of trainers. Autumn Calabrese is the trainer and developer of this program. You workout all 21 days for 30 minutes a day. The workouts consist of cardio, pilates, weight training, core, and cardio with weights. What really sets this program apart from other programs is the nutrition plan. When you purchase this program not only do you get the workout DVDs but you get color coded tupperware to plan your meals. You Too Can Be A Beachbody Success Story!!

Have you ever watched a Beachbody infomercial about P90X, Insanity, or Focus T25 and say those people on there are athletes and it possibly can not work me.  That is so wrong because these workouts and other Beachbody workouts help people on a daily basis.  If you don't believe me then checkout these success stories of everyday ordinary people who have used Beachbody products and have gotten amazing results.



"My life before Beachbody really wasn’t very healthy at all. Growing up, I mostly ate junk food and frozen dinners throughout my childhood. Yeah, I was that overweight kid. And because of that, I was bullied. A lot. That made me feel depressed and totally insecure. So my “go-to” comfort foods were cheeseburgers, candy bars and stuff like that. As you can imagine, that only made me fatter. So I got picked on even more.

This carried over to my adult years and caused some pretty severe emotional problems. Deep down inside, I really hated myself for letting myself get so out of control. No matter how much I tried to avoid the mirror, just seeing my reflection was a constant reminder of my failures. I was my own worst enemy.

But I had a good friend who was a Beachbody Coach. She was kind enough to introduce me to LES MILLS COMBAT and Shakeology—and to be honest, that saved me. But not right away. When I started COMBAT and Shakeology, I weighed 230 pounds. and had over 31% body fat!

Since committing myself to Beachbody and a life of clean eating and exercise, I have lost 52 pounds and 16% of my body fat. But when I first started COMBAT, I tried the first day and couldn’t finish. I could barely breathe and my ankles swelled immediately. But I stuck with it, and each day I got stronger and stronger. All the punching and backward kicks really challenged me.

Dan and Rach had such a positive attitude. It was contagious. Just listening to them gave me energy. I never realized how much I could sweat in just 45 minutes. But I stayed at it and when I was finished, I needed a new challenge. So I tried FOCUS T-25! Wow, that’s my favorite workout—Speed 2.0 and Upper Body Focus are awesome.

And what can I say about Shakeology? It played such a key role in my weight loss. I have gained more energy and such a higher metabolism, I can’t imagine ever not drinking it. I mean, I can’t imagine ever going back to the way I was. My wife has joined me on my journey, starting with COMBAT and then FOCUS T-25 and now my whole family is eating clean and exercising together.

Our kids eat healthier foods now, as well, and my six-year-old will join me in my workouts, or even just watch and cheer me on.

I feel like I have been given a second chance to make the best of my life. So I’m making the most of it—as an athlete, a father, a clean eater, and as a Beachbody Coach so I can help others."






"I’ve always been athletic, played team sports, and used to love going to the gym with my dad. But when I got pregnant, everything changed. I remember poking my stomach after I delivered my baby and asking the nurse if something was still in there. “No,” she said, “you’ve put on weight.”

I started going back to the gym, but my dad wasn’t able to join me, so I lost interest—and gained weight. A lot of weight. After my second child, I was up to 270 pounds. I was a mess. Right off the bat, I loved Chalene. I can’t tell you how many times I had convinced myself that I could not do another set and she would say something like ‘YOU’RE NOT TIRED” or “YOU’RE A MACHINE!” It pumped me up so much. When I finished TurboFire, I needed something new and fun. LES MILLS COMBAT was perfect. Kicking shaped my legs hot, hot, hot, and the punching got my arms and abs. Dan and Rach are so inspiring and I loved the way the program was set up to include cardio, strength training, core workouts, HIITs, stretching and toning. It was so perfect. I never got bored, but I totally got ready for INSANITY. INSANITY kicked my ass. I hated it and loved it at the same time. Shaun T really pushes you, but you get results.

So much has changed. I LOVE being fit. I LOVE the feeling I have when I finish a workout. I LOVE the way I look—and even better, I LOVE the way my husband looks at me! These programs have turned me into someone I am SO proud of. I see muscle tone and I feel strong. I am elated that I can do full push-ups on my toes.

My physical transformation has been awesome, but I have had mental changes as well. I have amazing energy, and I am so much more confident in myself. I feel powerful—and I will just keep getting stronger and stronger thanks to Beachbody and the amazing people I have met."







"At 35 years old and weighing in at 220 pounds, I felt tired, heavy, depressed, ugly, fat, sick, and hopeless. I didn't like the way I looked so much that I’d brush my teeth looking down at the sink; it was so hard to see myself in the mirror. I couldn't keep up with my kids or the daily activities of being a mom, wife, and busy woman. I was tired of being sick and I really wanted to feel better about myself so I could be a good example for my daughter. I wanted to wear a bikini and skinny jeans for the first time in my life, and actually look good in them. So I ordered T25.

I chose T25 because I wanted to lose weight fast! And while I wanted to challenge myself, I didn't want to spend a lot of time every day working out and sacrificing time with my 3 kids. Before T25, I’d skip working out simply because I just didn't have an hour to an hour-and-a-half to burn. But I found T-25 to be totally doable.

T25 was a little challenging in the beginning because I was so out of shape, but I made the decision to COMMIT and SUCCEED, so I stuck with it and it paid off—big time. I was so in love with the program and the energy and happiness I felt after every workout. I kept pushing play and started to eat healthy by following the meal plan. I even joined teambeachbody.com to log my workouts, which kept me accountable. Getting up at 5 a.m. to work out wasn’t easy and I needed accountability, plus seeing those days change colors kept me going. Being part of a Challenge Group was amazing too because I had accountability from people going through the same ups and downs as I was. I never felt alone on my journey and my motivation stayed way up with all the support.

I've also been drinking Shakeology daily and it’s made a huge difference in my health. I haven't gotten a cold since I started, and drinking Shakeology has helped me fight off my chocolate and bread cravings. Who needs chocolate ice cream, full of fat and sugar, when there’s Chocolate Shakeology? Not this girl!

With T25 and Shakeology my health and weight changed completely. My cholesterol dropped from 217 to 146 and I’m no longer an "overweight" person. I went from 220 lbs. to 143 and a size 16 to an 8. My waist shrunk from 44 inches to 31, hips went from 46 to 38, and I lost 4 inches in my thighs. I even went from 32% body fat to 19%. WOW! I’m fitter than I’ve ever been in my life and feel amazing.

Sure it was hard at times, but I followed Shaun T's instructions and did my best and pushed a little harder every day. I now see muscles that I didn't know existed, and I feel so strong, fit, healthy, and energetic! I have lean muscles now and can jump, dance, run, and play with my kids without feeling tired. Plus, I can actually see my abs! I don't fear mirrors and pictures anymore and actually make exercising a priority without looking for excuses not to do it. My entire family has gone through a complete lifestyle change as well and I couldn’t be more proud.

Having friends tell me, "You are an inspiration and I want to look like you" IS AWESOME!!!! I used to be the one that wanted to look like my friends, because I was always the big one—but not anymore. Thanks Beachbody, you guys really did change my life."






"When I became pregnant I took the phrase "eating for 2" literally. I used my pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted and ballooned up to 242 pounds. The excess weight I was carting around caused me to re-herniate a disc in my lower back, which resulted in 2 surgeries in 2 years.

I was tired, overweight, depressed, and in pain all the time. I was miserable inside and out, and was embarrassed for my husband because I was not the woman he had married. Nor was I the mother I wanted to be for my young daughter. She deserved a mom that was happy and healthy, not a mom who was too tired to get off the couch. Plus, I wanted my daughter to learn healthy food choices and live an active lifestyle. I never want her to feel the shame of being overweight that I so often felt. And most importantly, I want my daughter to be proud of me! I don’t want her to get teased for having a fat mom. I knew I had to change. But how?

After watching a ton of Beachbody infomercials and reading success stories I thought…why them, and not me? So I bought INSANITY and got great results. Then I moved on to P90X, followed that with a hybrid of the 2, then completed LES MILLS PUMP. It was during PUMP that I fell in love with weight lifting and ordered Body Beast. Beast was amazing and made me feels so empowered as a woman. I didn’t bulk up; instead I developed long, lean muscles. And even though I gained 5 lbs., I had to buy smaller pants. Sagi, the trainer, is so funny and his humor really kept me going. Plus, the workout strengthened my back and core, and my spine has never been so stable!

I also participated in a Challenge Group, had a wonderful Coach who did everything a good coach should do, and drank Shakeology daily. The Group supported me and held me accountable for my actions. Sally, my Coach, gave me samples and encouragement. And Shakeology gave me more energy and stamina, reduced my cravings, and helped with digestion. My only regret is that I waited so long to start using it. I used money as an excuse not to try it—what a mistake that was. I've also noticed that my energy and mood improves when I stick to Michi's ladder.

It took me a little over 3 years to go from 225 lbs. to 143 (a size 20 to a 4), but my results are worth it! I feel so energetic and have gained a ton of confidence. Thanks to the tools and support that Beachbody provided, I found the desire within myself to achieve success. I now hold my head high when I walk and I can finally play with my daughter without being exhausted. I used to think that I was taking time away from my family by exercising; now I know that the opposite is true. I have finally managed to be the good example and role model for my daughter that I set out to be, teaching her healthy eating habits and physical fitness.

One of the biggest surprises after losing so much weight is that a ton of job opportunities have opened up for me. I work as a respiratory therapist at a Children's Hospital and I need to be healthy in order to take care of the sickest of children. One thing this job has taught me is how fragile life truly is. Now I no longer taking my life for granted by making poor choices when many of my patients are fighting just to survive. Plus, because I've lost weight, I now make the weight requirement to be able to fly in a helicopter when transporting sick kids.

I'm a very busy 37-year-old mom who did this while working fulltime, 12-hour night shifts. I have a pin in my knee and 2 rods and 4 screws holding my lower spine together. So if I can do it—ANYONE can! So to "pay it forward" I've become a Beachbody Coach and have encouraged many of my colleagues to take the challenge and take control of their lives as well! Thanks Beachbody—you truly saved me."

Welcome to the Getting Fit with Mike Blog

Welcome to my newly revamped blog. This blog will be dedicated to health, fitness, and Beachbody products. I will be blogging tips on fitness, healthy recipes, and the latest happenings with Beachbody.

Not only will you be seeing my blogs but there will guest posts from the awesome coaches of the team I am part of. I am a member of Team Revelation under the wonderful guidance of Annie French. My personal coach is JayJay Treadway, I have to thank her so much for bringing me into this great team.
